WHO
My name is Jamie Martin, and I’m an award winning concept designer, graphic artist and 3D modeller based in London, England. I focus primarily on 2D & 3D concept design, as well as GUI (Graphical User Interface) and AR (Augmented Reality) designs for a variety of industries, including film, game, automotive, robotic, military, and others. I welcome design projects from both local and international clients.
HOW
I always endeavour to inject my work with a fresh creative edge, and pride myself on being able to deliver a full conceptual package - from initial 2D proposals through to final, detailed illustrations, graphics, or photo-real 3D visuals. As well as utilising free-hand artwork techniques, the software packages I primarily work with are Maxon 'Cinema 4D' for 3D modelling, visuals and animation, and Adobe 'Photoshop', and 'Illustrator' for 2D compositing, visuals and graphic design.
WHY
Being an avid moviegoer, video gamer and car fanatic, I've always had an artistic interest in the methods behind their creation. Having trained as an automotive designer I developed 3D modelling skills as a means to enhance the visualisation of my 2D concept artwork. My designs have been featured in a wide range of magazines and online articles, as well as winning awards, and my YouTube videos have been viewed over 2 million times to date.
CLIENTS
'PLURALITY'
Lead designer on Dennis Liu's soon-to-be-released sci-fi short film 'Plurality'. Set in the near future, the story revolves around a team of enforcement agents who track 'Plurality' criminals illegally travelling back in time. The question is, how do you distinguish between who is from the present and who isn't?I was tasked with populating the near-future world with a plethora of Graphical User Interface (GUI) designs and various visual content.

COBRA VENOM V8 > CONCEPT CAR
Designed as a spiritual successor to the classic AC/Shelby Cobra. Being a great fan of the sixties icon, I wanted to produce a modern-day take on the legendary muscle-car that would capture it's true essence. The original car's flowing lines, combined with the bulging muscular forms, have sealed its mark in the hearts of many; it is truly unmistakable. My design received wide critical acclaim, and was showcased in a number of magazine articles.3D model created, textured and animated in Cinema 4D. All work copyright © Jamie Martin.
ACE > ROBOT
Designed as a robotic mascot and 'face' for automotive company 'ACtronics'. ACE is your likeable 'car doctor', able to fix any of your automotive needs with his in-built (rear mounted) toolbox and multi-purpose interchangeable hands. The client requested ACE feature the spherical 'ID4Motion' logo I had previously designed for them as his eyes, and that he had to immediately come across to their customers as "friendly". I decided to include wheels instead of legs for ACE, to emphasise the automotive link between him and his new owners.

C.R.A.B. > ROBOT
CYBERNETIC - REMOTE - AUTONOMOUS - BARRICADEWith the introduction of the new C.R.A.B. robotic sentry system, policing has been revolutionised for the 21st Century. The advanced robotics technology behind the C.R.A.B.'s artificial intelligence has been secretly developed over the past 12 years as a joint venture between weapons manufacturer Dalton/Stanley and mega-corporation Omni-Corp. The results of their historical collaboration has been to produce the most advanced robotic defence system ever constructed, featuring next-generation weaponry and armour protection. The C.R.A.B. is set to pave the way for all future Police and Military automaton technology, and will be found on patrol in the public domain very soon.
Designed as an alternative to the more common bipedal/humanoid robot concepts. I wanted to experiment with incorporating a multi-legged design of the likes I hadn't seen before, and sought inspiration from the insect and crustacean world.

ASSAULT/SNIPER RIFLE HYBRID [A/SRH-C1]
The A/SRH-C1 is the latest pioneering technology from renowned gun manufacturer Dalton/Stanley. It enables the user to alternate between 'Assault' and 'Sniper' modes depending on their environment and requirements. Primarily the weapon acts as a lightweight close-range Assault Rifle, but is able to automatically and conveniently convert into a medium-long range Sniper Rifle with computer-guidance laser triangulation capabilities. An on-board system allows the user to pin-point and lock-on to a designated target, where upon the built-in computer measures air particles passing through three invisible beams projected from the front of the weapon. The computer uses this information to calculate wind direction and velocity, resulting in it being able to provide the user with a more accurate alternative target for the shot, presented on the scope's viewfinder.
Additional features of the hybrid rifle include a front-mounted high-beam light and laser sight, night-vision via a rotating adjustable top mounted scope, plus in-built, foldable front support legs for stability and greater targeting accuracy.
Dalton/Stanley T.W.D. requests that all observed information be kept strictly confidential, as a matter of National Security.
DISCLAIMER: Due to public confusion as to whether the A/SRH-C1 is a genuine weapon, I feel it necessary to state that it is a fantasy design, and is in no way a real or functioning piece of military hardware. It is meant purely for entertainment purposes only.

PITGIRL > ROBOT
Built solely for the CRS (Cybernetic Racing Series) as a modular, all-purpose Pit-Crew member, Pitgirl's multi-functional capabilities are second-to-none. Able to adapt to a number of roles (re-fueling, communications, repair/maintenance, etc) via detachable back-mounted 'kits', she is an integral part of many CRS teams and to-date is the most commercially successful cybernetic synthetic created by Titan Industries. Classed as an Alpha-Prime Robotics Service System (APRSS), each Pitgirl unit is given the option to choose their own moniker. In the case of the example illustrated here, this unit named herself Fiona-Alpha-Prime, and has been a highly regarded member of the Nostros CRS team for the past 18 seasons.2D illustrations created in Adobe Photoshop. CLEAN ROOM > FUTURISTIC ENVIRONMENT
Designed as a clinical, yet futuristic 3D environment. This room is the final stage of the manufacturing process for Dalton/Stanley's C.R.A.B. robot, where the engineers test not just the mechanical functionality of their machines, but also their A.I and targeting systems. It is expected that a number of similar 'clean rooms' will be constructed to meet the demands of increasing international orders.3D model created, textured and animated in Cinema 4D. INDUSTRIAL CHAMBER > ENVIRONMENT
One of the 'Temporal Displacement' chambers of the TRL Corporation. The underground laboratory and it's numerous testing chambers are used for experimental 'time-shifts' via a series of nuclear powered Plasma Generators. Test subjects enter via a lead-lined ramp, before being subjected to over 120Gy of radiation (TRL Corp. have their own 'miniature' power station). No organic matter has yet to survive the 'time shift' experiments.3D model created, textured and animated in Cinema 4D. All work copyright © Jamie Martin.
