With the introduction of the new C.R.A.B. robotic sentry system, policing has been revolutionised for the 21st Century. The advanced robotics technology behind the C.R.A.B.'s artificial intelligence has been secretly developed over the past 12 years as a joint venture between weapons manufacturer Dalton/Stanley and mega-corporation Omni-Corp. The results of their historical collaboration has been to produce the most advanced robotic defence system ever constructed, featuring next-generation weaponry and armour protection. The C.R.A.B. is set to pave the way for all future Police and Military automaton technology, and will be found on patrol in the public domain very soon.
A short 3D animation created to mimic the opening credits of a sc-fi movie. It depicts the progress of a lone space craft, through the vast industrial chasm of the mothership's mechanical interior, to its launch platform, and beyond: In the early part of the 22nd Century, it is revealed that the Earth will soon become uninhabitable. As a solution for the future of mankind, a group of scientists are specially selected to establish a Migration Outpost on a distant planetoid. Once there, they find it is the ideal host for continuing life that they had hoped for. That is until all communication with them is lost. Stranded in deep space, with help from Earth months away, their fate lies in the sparse crew of an orbiting station. But the crew are not equipped to deal with what they find waiting for them on the surface....
ASSAULT/SNIPER RIFLE HYBRID [A/SRH-C1]
The A/SRH-C1 is the latest pioneering technology from renowned gun manufacturer Dalton/Stanley. It enables the user to alternate between 'Assault' and 'Sniper' modes depending on their environment and requirements. Primarily the weapon acts as a lightweight close-range Assault Rifle, but is able to automatically and conveniently convert into a medium-long range Sniper Rifle with computer-guidance laser triangulation capabilities. An on-board system allows the user to pin-point and lock-on to a designated target, where upon the built-in computer measures air particles passing through three invisible beams projected from the front of the weapon. The computer uses this information to calculate wind direction and velocity, resulting in it being able to provide the user with a more accurate alternative target for the shot, presented on the scope's viewfinder.
Lead designer on Dennis Liu's sci-fi short film 'Plurality'. Set in the near future, the story revolves around a team of enforcement agents who track 'Plurality' criminals illegally travelling back in time. The question is, how do you distinguish between who is from the present and who isn't? I was tasked with populating the near-future world with a plethora of Graphical User Interface (GUI) designs and various visual content.
Designed as a spiritual successor to the classic AC/Shelby Cobra. Being a great fan of the sixties icon, I wanted to produce a modern-day take on the legendary muscle-car that would capture it's true essence. The original car's flowing lines, combined with the bulging muscular forms, have sealed its mark in the hearts of many; it is truly unmistakable. My design received wide critical acclaim, and was showcased in a number of magazine articles.
Designed for use in a cutting-edge tri-screen LCD dashboard display, ACtronics required a number of radical, yet functional, graphical user interfaces created to showcase their new vehicle interior developments. Shown here are a selection of automotive interior, dashboard, and instrument cluster housing concepts created for client ACtronics. The designs are being used to demonstrate the possible future of vehicle interface technology.
Designed as the ultimate immersive, escapist, entertainment experience. With features including in-built games consoles, computer, OLED TV/PVR, video/music playback, 7.1 audio entertainment, adjustable gaming wheel/controller support, heater/cooling, projected mood lighting, computer controlled lumbar support and back massager, all incorporated into a stylish and ergonomic leather upholstered chair. Additionally, one of the key unique features of the Gadget Chair is it’s ceiling-mounted motion technology. This allows for vertical and rotational movement, powered by hydraulic pistons for activities such as enhancing the in-game experience or during movie playback, throwing you into the middle of the action and turning it into a dynamic reality.
A selection of experimental interface concepts for dashboards from automotive manufacturer Altia. The concepts were taken into 3D to explore transitions, activating/deactivating animations, and various gauge readout animations.
In the summer of 2008, London Mayor Boris Johnson launched a worldwide competition, open to both design agencies, companies, and individuals, to design a replacement for the classic Routemaster bus. The competition closed in September 2008, and the winners were invited to an awards ceremony in London's Westminster on 19th December 2008. I was awarded as a joint second place winner, behind first place Aston Martin/Foster+Partners. The finished 'New Routemaster' was launched in the Spring of 2012, and can now be seen on the streets of London.
